How the knotless method is done
Jumbo knotless begins with the knotless feed-in method where hair is gradually added so the roots sit flat without a bulky knot. That lower-tension entry reduces pull at the scalp and creates a softer, natural-looking root line. Because this listing is for JUMBO size, individual braids are larger, offering a bold silhouette and quicker installation compared with smaller sizes.
Braiding hair is included with the service to ensure consistent thickness and hold across the set. Color options such as highlight accents or multi-color blends are available for custom accents; complexity may affect the final charge. Discuss color plans at booking so we can prepare matching hair and estimate any additional cost before your appointment.
What to bring and prep
Arrive with clean, product-free hair that’s been blow-dried and fully detangled; this standard keeps installation on schedule and preserves braid longevity. If additional detangling is required, an extra service fee may apply. A 15-minute grace period is provided—appointments are not held past that time—so punctuality helps us complete your 180-minute session efficiently.
To maintain a calm salon environment no extra guests are allowed; bring only what’s necessary. The remaining balance is due at the appointment and can be paid with cash, Zelle, or Cash App. If you’re commuting from Hyde Park, Woodlawn or taking the Metra, allow travel time—South Shore access from Jeffery Boulevard and 71st Street is convenient but can vary by season.
Timing, price and busy months
Price and timing are straightforward: this service is $160 and the scheduled duration is 180 minutes. That timeframe covers part-prep and installation for a full jumbo set; exact time can vary by hair density and color work. We encourage booking when you can commit to the full session so we finish without rushing and deliver an even, durable result.
Demand peaks in May, June, July and December because summer visitors want low-maintenance protection and December travel drives appointments. Chicago’s lakefront climate—humid summers and windy conditions—makes protective braids practical for seasonal recreation at South Shore Beach and nearby parks. Plan ahead during those months because slots fill quickly.
